Something i came up with when exploring the idea of a future where humanity has access to other realities.

An extraction rig that fractures space to create a gate to another reality and extract whatever's on the other side. Such rigs are usually set up in spaces where the fabric of reality is relatively soft which makes it easy to fracture. The rig starts up, sends out a massive pulse of energy that creates a gate between realities and forces it to stay open while extracting gases from the other side. while active, the rig often takes heavy heat damage. Because of this, it can only run for 2-3 hours before needing to shut down for cooldown and maintenance.
