frontrunner [custom drumhead]

This is my first piece of its kind, hopefully the first of many more. It's a custom drumhead I was commissioned to do art for. The name, frontrunner, is based on the name of the first album of the band that commissioned me, an album themed around horses.
In between waiting for materials and going through some of the worst stresses I've been through in recent memory, I chipped away at this on and off in under two weeks. The process was effectively two coats of clear primer > POSCA markers > two coats of gloss varnish to seal it all in.

I thought of a meme related to lwyd I saw on an r/bossfight video
sick design! I love seeing the progression. You could have stopped at any single point in the process and it would have been a great design but the end result is just *chef's kiss*.
Not all pieces of art need colour to stand out, and this monochromatic masterpiece of a drumhead proves it! The contrast between the black and white horse and the very light grey beams in the background is a nice touch.
