Eitr!

The piece that started it all (well there were others but we don't talk about those), and it still stands as one of my best pieces after all this time!

After seeing online artist Akai Riot's (@AkaiRiot on Twitter) group of "elemental" girls, I decided to make one of my own, so I made this drawing of who would become my mascot character, Eitr.

Eitr is intended to be the "gas elemental," a sort of "embodiment" or "avatar" for poisonous gas. Her hair emits a constant stream of toxic gas that slowly kills everything around her, forcing her to live in the woods in exile, hiding from the humans she so desperately wants to befriend as she is a bubbly, gregarious soul who wants nothing more than companionship.

The gas kills humans very slowly, gradually, and painlessly, even having a sweet, alluring smell that makes it somewhat of an aphrodisiac. After about 10-15 minutes of exposure, a human will fall unconscious and never get back up. No one ever survives an encounter with Eitr unless their face is covered, her beauty, friendliness, and hormone-inducing gas puts her victims in a trance and keeps them near her until they die, much to her confusion as she has no conception of death. She's a sort of "unintentional succubus" in this regard, she lures men in with her beautiful body, bubbly personality, and sweet aroma then kills them, only she has no control over it and has not an iota of malicious intent. She just wants a friend, yet to her, they all "grow bored" of her and fall asleep for a really long time. She's also gained a bit of a "boogeyman"-like reputation because of this.

There's a LOT more to this character and universe that I have posted on my Twitter account, so if you're interested in learning more about Eitr, consider checking it out, it should be in my pinned Tweet.

I guess cuz I uploaded this piece just after I joined NG I didn't realize I could upload alts alongside it, so here are some of those.

Here's what she originally looked like before I decided to update Eitr's skin tone to be a more vibrant "chartreuse" color which I think looks much better for her.

Here's what she looks like when she's angry, her hair begins to burn very brightly while her skin turns matchstick red and her usual slow-acting and painlessly suffocating purple toxic smog turns into incredibly poisonous phosphorescent smoke that causes rashes and leads to a faster, much less pleasant death.

A similar effect happens during sexual intercourse, her hair will begin to burn with a very low blue flame that releases harmless white smoke, an even stronger aphrodisiac than her standard smog. Additionally, the skin around her crotch will turn bright pink, with her whole body changing between green and pink throughout intercourse, the colors blending and shifting back in forth in a method similar to psychedelia/tye-dye or the ripples of light on the bottom of a body of water like a pool. Her body will "flash" with pink during major moments like orgasms and her hair's flames will "flare" in response, necessitating caution to avoid losing an eyebrow. Haven't drawn this yet.

I have uncensored versions, but those will be in a separate post to keep the complete piece's rating M: https://www.newgrounds.com/art/view/treeese/uncensored-versions-of-the-og-eitr-drawing

I really like this one! The swirls throughout are really nice and I really like her expression <3

treeese responds:

Thank you very much!

While I tend to be pretty harshly self-critical of myself and think quite lowly of a ton of my art, like I said in the forum post I do consider this to be my best drawing, largely because of the expression and background (though even this irks me, a lot of the lines are jagged/not as smooth as they should be, might make an attempt to redo the background in Krita instead of Piskel). I don't know how I managed to squeeze out that expression, though. I had no idea what I was doing and barely referenced anything to draw it, and yet it just...appeared. Like I haven't been able to create eyes like the ones in this drawing since making it, despite my greatest efforts, hence the whole impostor syndrome thing. It legitimately feels like someone else made this drawing sometimes, even though I remember the grueling amount of time I spent just smoothing the curves alone.

Anyways, thanks again for the kind remarks. Can't say how things will be in the future, I don't draw very consistently/drawing isn't my main pastime, but something will be coming soon alongside a piece of writing (which I've been doing a lot more than drawing recently). I really appreciate the follow!
