This character looks similar to the first boss in chapter 1 of Super Paper Mario. I really like the design overall.

The lighting is completely wrong but it looks nice? These characters are for a game I'm assisting with. You can see more on my blog.
I don't know how to render in maya the viewport always looks better even though the lights shine through everything even when cast shadows are on¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I looked at the sketchfab version. I liked the expression on the characters face and the glowing orb in the mouth of the serpent. The creatures design reminds me of the serpents of Mayan art.
