Do you prefer ice cream...or popsicles?

This was kinda overdue (mostly because I was busy with other stuff (last month), but it's still summer. Since I did like a bit too many drawings set at the beach, I wanted to add a twist to this time; changing the time of day to sunset!

I didn't want to make it too dynamic because I wanted to show off Soda and Leroy's summer outfits. The same also applied to making the sunset not too intense, and the overall balance of simplification for my old cartoon screencap style. All I did was apply "shine" shade to the characters to show that light is shining from the setting sun and the additional shadows underneath.

This...turned out way better than my other pieces, mostly because I had a clear vision of what the background should and would be like and researched style prompts further. Notably I didn't want to make the sky look too realistic, by exactly replicating real-life clouds so I used prompts from video games and cartoons for reference, so it'd be a perfect balance of reality and fiction.
