I couldn't decide on what the rare item could be. I initinally went with a rare baseball card, but it felt too generic. The next option was a diamond, which was not a plausible option at first but I realised it resembles a Chaos Emerald, which fit perfectly due to Murphy being a huge Sonic fan.

This was one of the first times drawing the characters in my refined cartoony style, so they fit with my OCs design features. It's much more of a improvement compared to the last time I did it, and has a perfect balance between recognisable and close to the source material. It's not perfect and I do possibly plan on changing it up as the time goes by.

I wanted to apply the rules to the way I draw backgrounds for my other arts like this one in my style, acting as a continuation for those "quickie comic" concepts. I was actually happy at how the sketch turned out, which had that cartoony energy I've been wanting to capture for years, and I hope to take it further!

While I've got most of the design techniques settled down for this type of art, I've become mixed on airbrush shine effects, fearing it would take away from the "lineless cartoon" feel but I realised 2000s cartoons used light CGI of a similar calibre, so I opted for it and it worked.
