I know I said a while back that normally I would never draw a character as boring as Laird but this was a funny idea I just couldn’t pass on. In this drawing Laird runs into a Magikoopa from the Super Mario Bros. games, and he turns Laird into one of the Talking Flowers from Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Thus further expressing my thought on how the Talking Flowers in the game sound just like Laird.

Transcript: (For those who can’t read the speech bubbles)

Laird: Hey! It’s a Koopa Wizard! Lovely day, isn’t it?

Magikoopa: No it isn’t! Your role as a boring character has gone on long enough! It’s giving me spring fever!

Laird: Say what now? I’m not boring! Wait, what are you doing…

(Magikoopa zaps Laird with his magic wand.)

Magikoopa: ABRA KADABRA!

Laird: AHHH!!!

Magikoopa: Spring fever! Get it? You’re a talking flower now!

Laird/Talking Flower: Mondays, am I right?

This took a little longer for me to draw than I intended. Originally I was going to end it with four panels but it ended up being six instead.
