Japanese Cryptids/Yokai

Share

Hello everyone! as promised/ talked about in my last upload, here's another cryptid-related pixel art upload. This time it has to do with a lot of Japanese related cryptids/yokai, I looked over a bunch on a cryptid wiki and picked out the ones that looked the coolest to me as well as trying to avoid ones of which I know myself and probably lots of other people already know of. Maybe in the future, I'll draw the more well-known ones but as of now, these are the ones I've drawn thus far!

More info: If anyone was wondering, These are all Japanese cryptids, most are what people there in the past thought caused diseases (Haimushi, Kanmushi, Kakuran no Mushi, Chisaku, and Akuchu) and originate from a book named "Harikikigaki" which was a book of medical knowledge that was written by an unknown author in the year 1568. The only one that isn't from this aforementioned book is the "Amabie" which is a yokai that is said to live in the ocean but glows brightly enough to be seen from the shore.

I have some other stuff coming down the pipeline pretty quickly after this, probably even tomorrow depending on how this goes.

As an addition to this little upload of mine: here's the original size of this specific pixel art drawing! I hope you enjoy seeing this as well as the upscaled version of this as well!
