I get the sense of fear for the impending end as well as relief that all is over and dissolving away. While the angle of the gas mask is great, here's something I noticed: it's a little too far from the torso. I'm thinking either his mask came off or his head is...gone. Interesting piece of art though, favourited! And, you did a really good job on the colours here, using both cool and warm colours to create an interesting effect. It'd be interesting to see what this character is looking at right at this moment. Just lights? Or perhaps his life passing by? The concept along with the art itself makes me wonder.
