Your emotions seep through the piece. Perhaps I would've put the text closer to the girl so that the piece was smaller and everything more of a unity. But that's a matter of taste. Reflecting upon death is but deeply human, and you'll continue to develop your thoughts on it. Perhaps other great pieces will come out of that.

One night I was lying in bed thinking about death, as you do. I've always been rather fearful of the concept, the idea that someday all of your memories, your very sense of self, will cease to be. But I realized something: all of the things that make up who you are, have always existed since the beginning of time. We are the sum of trillions of tiny, incomprehensible things interacting in ways we may never understand. They weren't always like that, they simply came together at a certain point. And when we die, they simply go back. Death is not an end, it is a reversal. Once I realized that, I wasn't so scared.
It was a rather emotional moment for me. And shortly after the realization, this image and saying came to mind.
