Orin & Morin

In Songs of Heimurinn the men of Heimur perceive Orin and Morin (Elves & Goblins) as separate races but in truth they are all part of the same elven family, all Fae are just different branches of the same tree, or in the case of the Morin, roots… For they are the song of the earth, they draw their strength from it and so unlike their forest cusion’s they are not allergic to base metals.

They may be kin but Morin are not as agile or graceful as other elves, but they are stronger and thus many wear heavy armour and carry great steel weapons into battle.

When Morin make war they are commonly seen to carry rusty arms, but this not because they lack skill with metalcraft, on the contrary they are the most accomplished smiths in all the fae realm, nor is it simply because many of them live in damp tunnels and swamps, it is because Morin are cruel… They purposely taint their arms, allow them to rust or coat them with poisons… Thus a single scratch from a Morin blade can be enough to kill a grown man.

All but a few Morin clans belong to the Unseelie court, they are openly hostile to humans and have an ancient feud with the Dwarrows over who rules the Depths below Cenrica.
