Dune revisited

Share

Another Dune illustration I did sometime last year. Wanted to keep the color palette as a nod to the 1965 first printing's cover.

Love the sense of scale!

Absolutely wonderful. This piece speaks to me something fierce. Normally the way that desert illustrations are portrayed is either overly yellow or orange... But there's a wonderful smorgasbord of range in this palette which tickles me just right. The sense of scale the character in the center provides is splendid, to boot. Is that a random Fremen? A naib from some sietch? Muad'dib himself? Mayhaps Gurney Halleck, trotting along sloshed and ready to swing his fists at whatever awaits him?

Keep at it,

I really like how you use a limited color pallet here to give us an idea of distance and definition.

AAA THIS IS SO PRETTY
