Ok for those of you who don't know what Cross Hatching is, here's a simple version.
Basically it's using line in various directions to create depth and surface texture. This can also be made to give the illusion of three dimensional looks to your art.

Now the purpose of this picture is that I love to be a smartass and during my Life Drawing class my professor said that everyone in the class takes things too literally. Then he kept harping at us about Cross Hatching so I went up to the board and drew this. He laughed and I thought it was really funny. So here ya go, a better version of it. And to be honest isn't this what you think of when you hear Cross Hatching. A cross hatching out of an egg.
