"What do you think? Lovely, isn't it? The prettiest thing in Hell and it's mine."

Just a heads up for those of you, who don't know Hazbin Hotel: it's a guy :P

The saga of drawing lineart in Gimp and flat colouring continues. And of course it was inevitable for me to draw Angel Dust :') His pose was loosely inspired by Sally Mann's photo titled "Candy Cigarette". His dress was initially more frilly and I was thinking about colouring it red or dark pink, then I decided black would be more fitting for the mood of the picture and scrapped the frills. Also, I think Angel's uncovered shoulders look very vulnerable and frills would conceal it.

My idea was to draw Angel glaring at someone who sees him as a thing/toy and not a person. And honestly, drawing this picture felt at time uncomfortable and kinda creepy. Like it wasn't just a fictional character silently resenting another fictional character, but someone staring directly at me. Sounds weird as fuck, I know, but that's how I felt.

Anyway, hope you like it :3

True Fact: He is pretty.
Have you looked into other stuff besides GIMP? I know that's the one most people say, but I like to use Paint.net. It's a bit simpler, kinda like a way better upgrade of MS Paint with layers and transparency and color manipulation and all that, plus it has a way smoother interface. That's just my preference though. If you'd like a real drawing tool, you can get a demo of Paint Tool SAI 2 which can hook into a tablet, so that's cool.

Thanks a lot for the comment ;)
I tried ArtWeaver before and it works well when it comes to sketching and drawing lineart. Gimp can be a real pain in the ass with the lineart, but I dunno it's probably the issue with my grandpa of a tablet. It's still fine when it comes to colouring though and I'm pretty used to it at this point.
Anyway, I gotta try Paint.net one day, because many people recommend it ;3
