reflection eternal was a huge shot at making a metalheart work with very vibrant and neo-Y2K color schemes, and honestly it worked out incredibly well. i also wanted to focus on making a bigger form for the piece, as most of my forms for a lot of my pieces have been somewhat "small" or "medium" in scope, so i wanted to expand the size of it.
reflection eternal is named after the nujabes album of the same name, meanwhile (break color mix) is a reference to bleach chapter names, specifically INTRUDERZ 2 (break through the roof mix).
the color scheming is heavily based off vibrant yet pastel colors, with a lot of gradient maps and blending modes layered on top to give it that unique and polished glow that really pops out at you. the background is a blue sky color corrected to be a gradient of a pastel pink and blue.
the piece in general is meant to invoke a sense of beauty and ease, that everything will be okay, and that everything reflects eternally.
here's the original form, which was then repurposed into what I have now:
this piece was made with love on feburary 24th, 2025.
