If you remember the drawing i posted a while back of the black, blue, and silver Tserlial named Delfir, this is the Kyerten Cyufelk that died and amalgamated with them to turn into Deldrys. So just like Delfir, this character is dead in the lore already, in Cydris's case they actually managed to hide in a broom closet during the initial attack on the library, but was caught while trying to sneak away from the building by a large and motivated Marstyl.

Cydris is also the first Cyufelk character I've drawn digitally and posted here, Cyufelk are another sapient species in Ferrinsyl, but instead of being mercury based like Faelins, Cyufelk are copper based; I haven't gotten everything decided about them but there are going to be three genders to this race because human gender norms are still cringe: Kyerten, Fyrtig, and an unnamed form i'm still working out the details on. Cyufelk abilities are also a little different since they're a species that originated separately: they aren't as resistant to heat, their fur can contain reactive copper compounds (Cydris' fur was red due to having a lot of copper(II) acetylide in it, and they could combust it at will), they're a more sturdy build that can withstand a bit of concussive force, and their sturdier build lets them bear more weight and apply more force. It's not really shown here, but something neat about Kyerten in specific is that they actually have two lower jaws that slot together to act like a normal lower jaw.

My next drawing will hopefully be the actual amalgam that came from Delfir and Cydris' deaths, I actually designed Deldrys first and started on their digital drawing first but it's going to have a background and it's already a massive undertaking so I took a bit of a break from the project to work on the two characters that actually died for it since it only seemed fair. The neat thing is that it's made me thing about the lore more and now I've decided that the original library that Delfir and Cydris worked at was in the country that Calisthor was running before getting overthrown, and that it was the sudden political imbalance that led to an angry mob storming the library to destroy records and information relating to some cutting edge science that Calisthor had been endorsing; I'll try to have the story properly fleshed out when I post the drawing of Deldrys just for anybody that's really bored or hates themselves enough to read my terrible writing about my lame OCs.

My time on this was 12 hours 34 minutes, even with the finished drawing I still feel like the plates on Cydris should be a different color and pattern but I don't know what to change it to and I started this drawing last month as a "short art break".
