Most Faelins have large, semi-flexible scales over their backs, and a thick walled modified scale over the top of their head to better armor them against attacks. Calisthor is a rare example of a Marstyl that has smooth topscales and no faceplate, this means that their eyes are just floating lights a tiny bit above their face. The reason Calisthor has the dopey eyes is because I usually draw dumb faces on things in the rough sketches and some of my discord buddies wanted to see what a dumb face would look like when brought all the way to the final drawing. As for character lore, this doofus has the very basic story of: banished due to underhanded political plots, woke up in the rural tropics of earth and hasn't stopped complaining since; Calisthor has never seen a human in the four years they've been stranded, but I presume it'd be a funny mutual panic if a ship crashed at their little island or something.
