LegendaryAxe submission

This is my submission for the legendaryaxe competition. I'm a bit bummed that the detail on the faces can only be seen when zoomed in, but it's too late to change that now.
My roughs can be found here:

Many songs were sung about the Legendary Axe. Callis knew them all by heart. Hell, she could sing the songs backwards if asked. Songs of courage, determination, power. But nothing had prepared her for this. As she crept through the dark caverns in the Cave of Misways, she cradled the back of her head, occasionally letting out a grunt of boredom.
“…and you said no one would come,” said Amnet, a spiteful catch to her voice.
Finex sighed. “I know dear, and I was wrong, wasn’t I?” with this he shot a pleading glance towards Callis. She shrugged. Not her problem.
Finex, sensing that no help would come from Callis, let out an unhappy sigh. He loved Amnet, he really did. When they were joined he felt the utmost feeling of radiant belonging. Working as a team, the two Djinn could take on any opponent.
Five thousand years ago he had made the mistake of complementing the Holy Grail on her magnificent rubies. Unfortunately, Amnet had heard him. For the first thousand years, she had not spoken a word, merely wrapping herself tightly around the relic. He had pleaded, cajoled and begged for her forgiveness. Finally she had spoken.
“Ssshhhhhh! …. Someone’s coming….”
