Still one of my most popular pieces of all time. I'd always wanted to do a Lovecraft-inspired piece and this was the first one. In fact, this helped me to get the opportunity to write and illustrate two stories for Planet Lovecraft Magazine.

Very nice

I like how the guy seems to be wearing a corset. For some reason i imagine HP Lovecraft himself wore corsets . He was very probably gay so its not that much of stretch. / ramblings

Funny you mention that hentai comic. In a story I don't tell often enough: I was working my first convention (the now defunct Big Apple Con--I had a table in Artist Alley) and a man comes up to me, with a young child at each side, holding their hands. He sees this piece, leans over the table and says:

"Do you have any tentacle p0rn? A friend of mine asked me to pick some up for him."

Looking at the children for a moment, and then back at him, I respond, "No." To which he responds:

"Do you know where I can get any?"

Again, I respond to the negative, and he walks away. I just felt there was something so off about him asking me with two little kids with him.

One thing though...that guy looks oddly like that guy from the movie Tangled. Ah well, I still love it! Can't find a single thing wrong with it!

Thank you. I'm glad so many people find this piece to be a smashing success. I won't hold the "Tangled" reference against you, even though this piece came first (2007). So, really, the bloke from "Tangled" looks like the guy in "The Horror Beyond the Door."
