The first entry in a new series of mine, Western Wednesdays!

As you may know, I'm a huge fan of cowgirls and the general western aesthetic. I'm not exactly sure how I fell in love with this style. It could have stemmed from something I watched as a kid. It's a style that I feel is often overlooked and underappreciated. So, I don't know how I got into western stuff, but I'm happy I did. I mean, cowgirls are some of the best girls ever. Strong, intelligent, sexy, skilled with weapons, what's not to love?

So, I figured to give them more of the attention they deserved, I figured I would start drawing a cowgirl character every Wednesday. Or at least, a character in a cowgirl outfit. I plan on doing this for a full year, but I may keep going even after that. I also plan on doing a lot of experimentation in this series. Different poses, shading techniques, color schemes, outfits, all of those will be varied throughout the course of this project. It's pretty exciting stuff, I think!

Anyway, I wanted to start this series off with a pretty obscure character, Jessica Kaios from Danball Senki W. I know nothing about this series, other than it involving mini mechas battling each other. Jessica is still really cute though, and is one I've wanted to draw for a while. So, I'm happy I finally did.

Maybe for the next entry, I'll double down on the obscure characters. We'll see!
