i decided to redesign that fluffy bug into a sea slug i call Gastromorph! they can change the pattern on their skin, and due to having liquid pressure instead of bones they can kinda shapeshift. they usually use these features to mimic clothes and eyes for expression.

PS: the eyes being wonky is a feature, i'll elaborate on it later.
