The HF-11 is a gun aimed at aspiring mercenaries, although it is commonly used by those wanting a reliable weapon for self defense too. Its moniker of Bread Winner comes from the fact that it is the most popular gun for greenhorn bounty hunters, as it was made to be cheap and easy to maintain, even by the Hapscoy Family's standards.

As such, it has become one of the hallmarks of the Family, and is by far one of their most successful products. This is to the point that this gun actually had a cultural impact, as it has been incorporated into many guilds' traditions and is the weapon many cosmos-wide famous hunters have boasted to have started their career with.

It is a laser-firing, battery-fed submachine gun. While the lasers are concussive on the stock models, they can easily be modified, as we have gotten to witness with Vberto "Loosewire" Damisk, famous for having modified his Bread Winner in such a way that it fired electric arcs.

The fire selector switch can be toggled to enable semi and fully automatic fire, and the two barrels fire alternatively, which makes it able to have a high shot by minute rate. The stock batteries are made in such a way that they'll run out of energy before the weapon has the occasion to overheat, but in the event that the user uses a customized battery, the front parts of the gun are all made of an alloy that lessens the heat gain, though it doesn't prevent it entirely.

This gun is so sturdy that it is commonly said that you could throw it in a sun and the sun would choke. This is, of course, an exaggeration, but it is true that this weapon is probably the best last resort weapon one could wish for in the direst of situation. So long as you have ammunition, you will not have to fear for any sort of failure.

One may ask why don't hunters just go about their career with just that one gun. This is because as a hunter's skill grows, their way of dealing with bounties evolves, and as such, a general purpose gun such as the Bread Winner may not be the fit they are looking for anymore. Which is one of the reasons why the Hapscoy Family's custom weapons are so popular.
