It looks nice. I think that you should probably use a darker, more orange colour for the shadows. Assuming that you're making a game, coin sprites usually don't appear very large when you are playing the game. So it would be pretty helpful to make your shadows be a little bolder.

Yes the coin sprite; a simple sprite I'm planning on using later on / modifying to be easier for use.
Edit: this version adds darker details, less squared, big on purpose for now; going to scale down later. The line added in the middle to make it less generic, more oval for the shape, removed the white to decrease the contrast, and added the yellow color within the main circle with the darker orange in the center.

My main plan is to reduce the size using built in game engine tools, however I do agree with you on the other details.
