I'm curious. Do you use some kind of 3D model to trace over to give it that 3-dimensional vibe or is it just done from scratch? Either way, it's really impressive.
Here's The TitleCard, as well as two backgrounds for my next animation.
It'll take place in 2009 so, i made the stylistic decision to represent that time period in 4:3 (I know 16:9 existed in that time, but 4:3 was more common)
It'll also have a slightly different style, while the characters will look mostly the same, the backgrounds will be a little bit flat and monochromatic!
Wish me good luck!

Most of the backgrounds are actually 3D tf2 & Gmod backgrounds, i sometimes edit them in Hammer adding certain props and furniture (mostly old timey stuff, like old school 50s and 60s TV's and couches)
Generally i try not to 100% copy the original maps and try my best to simply use them as guides.
Looks cool! Hope it goes well :)
