i played tales of berseria days before uploading this artwork. i finally got around to play and beat it because a friend of mine streamed it around last year and never got to beat it so i took it upon myself to finish this game just to stick it to them. i really liked the gameplay, story, characters, and most importantly, fashion. the gameplay was more hands on since my main jrpg's to play were the disgaea series, though my gripe is just how tanky the enemies were; again, i play the disgaea series to grind my character to quickly eliminate my enemies in short order. i do like how i can treat the game as a beat 'em up, but i would have to be a bit tactical since you can't just go hog wild with spamming the face buttons. beating it made me realize that the like a dragon jrpg's should've followed this gameplay style. for the story, i do like revenge plots, simple as. i'm fine with why velvet had to be out of commission after it all, i shudder at the idea of velvet just being very lost and aimless after accomplishing her life goal of vengeance, because what can you do even once you finally accomplish your lifelong goal of murdering your brother-in-law who sacrificed your younger brother? for the characters on the game, i liked all of them. they're interesting and entertaining people who had their own goals clearly communicated to the player. though my only complaint to the characters, namely eleanor, was that she should've had more time to grow, sure you could say that's she had all the time she needs with how much her world was opened up once she saw the church was corrupt as shit, but i think there could've been something more about velvet and eleanor having similar upbringings but different outcomes. in short, tales of berseria is a great game, bit of a time commitment but that's just a majority of jrpg's. magilou best girl and velvet is our heterohomobiasexual queen.
