Golpherra Animation #3!

Share

Here is number 3 of my animations of Golpherra! This attack is just a simple forward kick. This is the second attack of her neutral combo, which follows up with the previous attack.

At this point in animating attacks following up a previous one, I just figured I'd copy a specific frame from the previous attack, and then follow up from there with something else. In this case, I copied frame 11 of the previous attack, and put it into a new project and made it look like it follows up with this animation from there.

Animating this kick was interesting. Originally, there was going to be an anticipation frame in between frame 4 and frame 5 where she moves her kicking leg back slightly, and then kicks forward. I also had some trouble with frame 3 itself and trying to get that leg to bend in that way. I couldn't find a good body shape from my exported shapes from Combat Tournament to make that work for a good while, but then I found one that just about worked.

The way I did the beanie physics with this one was like, once the kick is executed, the beanie leans and stretches forward, and then for the frames after that, it rotates back to its default angle.

There was no inspiration for this attack, just like with the previous one.

This attack also made it into the unreleased CT game. I told him this attack was a follow up attack to Attack1, which is what the previous attack is named. This attack is named Attack2.

So, at this point, this is how far the neutral combo has come.

I'm makin' some decent progress with this combo!
