Meet Brodvar - my DND character, a dwarf druid.

He's one of the two dwarf characters I play in my friends' campaigns. Usually, I am the DM, but it's nice to explore the player's side of things from time to time.

Born of the Deepwood Dwarves - a somewhat obscure and reclusive bunch, young Brodvar was taught much in the ways of the wilds, animals, herbology, and the druidic arts.

Unlike most of his kin, however, he was quite the outgoing and talkative type. As such, he could never sit still enough to become one with nature, as was expected of any good Deepwood Dwarf. This pushed him to leave his home and travel the wide open world.

In his long travels, Brodvar learned much of the nature of the different races and peoples, yet never forgot his roots. He delved deep into the wilds, studying all manner of plants, animals, beasts, and the like. His favorite of earth's creatures were birds, whose language he mastered.

While exploring the world, Brodvar found a wounded raven and nurtured it back to health. The bird followed him around and so became his trusty companion. He named it Chirp and the two became inseparable.

Only Brodvar can understand the bird and translates it for others to know Chirp’s thoughts and opinions.

Upon returning home, Brodvar found the Deepwood desolated and his kin gone. He swore to find or avenge them, so he set out on his adventure.

Along the way, he joined a group of courageous and quirky characters, with whom he performed many heroics.

Yet the toll of his grief, the arduous journey he travels, and danger from beyond the world he knows, have all taken their toll on the old druid. Brodvar is no longer his jolly self, having become grumpy and cold.

Where he will go next and how he will change - for better or worse, is yet to be seen. Yet, loyal as ever, Chip remains close to his old friend.
