That allosaurus found gold considering how almost everything is nothing but ash!
I'm very excited to share the final result of a nearly year-long project: "Allosaurus after the Fire". I took my sweet time with this piece and am beyond happy with the results.
My goal with drawing dinosaurs has always been to bring those magnificent animals back to life on paper. With this artwork, I think I've taken my first real step towards that goal.
Depicted here is an Allosaurus that has been following the scent of burnt and rotting flesh through the ashen wasteland, only to find that his quarry is already feasted upon by three Compsognathids. The animals in the scene belong to the late Jurassic period of North America, however, both species have been found in Europe as well.
Wherever this encounter is taking place, it is at the very end of the Jurassic, when most of these magnificent animals went extinct - opening the way for newer forms to evolve in the following Cretaceous period.

Hahaha, yeap! He's one lucky allosaur =]
