Creation process:

Structure sketch:

No idea how I got the inspiration for this render honestly. The idea of an unknown structure floating in the middle of darkness seemed interesting, and when I thought about it, the shape you can see in the render came to my mind. While making the object I realized that the idea was kind of similar to pyramid head. If I'm not wrong, Masahiro Ito, the monster designer, said that the pyramid in pyramid head's head had that shape because the sharp edges symbolized something regarding James' psyche. Anyway, I don't know how that shape came to my mind, but the render just looks exactly how I wanted.

While doing the render I noticed that just the structure and grating wasn't enough, so I added just enough decorations to make it feel "realistic", in a way. Also, it's been a while since I did a render which focuses on one object in specific. That made me care a lot about keeping the quality of my latest render, as I didn't want it to feel like my older art (regarding the quality and style I've developed overtime)
