Okay, I'm gonna be honest, as someone from way early 2000's and Gen Z... I think my generation was the beginning of the end. Don't get me wrong, not all of my Generation is the embodiments of Sloth, but for a majority of Gen Z, I feel like we were slowly corrupted into this slothern state by the tech companies like Apple and Google. My generation doesn't know any skills because they wouldn't teach us those skills before it was too late. Why? Well, I may as well start with the beginning. Prepare yourself, a bit of Storytime, might want to pull up some Brimstone... AHEM!

In The Beginning "of Gen Z" (so basically the year 2000), There were 3 thing that came into fruition, The Computers, The Consoles, and The Television. The Computers were the commons for those in Gen Z. Chats upon sites like MySpace and Facebook would be done to keep in touch with friend, since those were the first of their kind. Google itself wasn't nearly as strong yet and had no control over places like Facebook, as it was still competing with 3 Search Engine Titans: Ask, Yahoo!, and Bing. Why, Youtube was originally a dating site still at the time where you posted videos. No limits either. Among other things were the MMO's and Games that we would play, Cool Math, Newgrounds (I'm sure), Miniclip, and Disney.com/Cartoon Network.com/Nickelodeon.com, all filled with gizmos, games, and toys at the time to entertain our eyes and baffled us when we failed, all powered by the beating hart we called "Adobe Flash". Then there were the MMO's, huge worlds of color and vibrancies where players could get together to take on the fictional evil in the landscape, all the while paying a 60 dollar yearly fee. These MMO's were known as Pirates of The Carribean Online, Wizard101, Club Penguin, and the behemoth of all MMO's... ToonTown. ToonTown, the game where Cartoons went out and killed businessmen with pies, seltzer bottles, and pianos, was known by all, and was considered the superb game for nearly 10 years, only to shut down on it's Anniversary. All of this, with a few types from a keyboard and a click of a mouse, all living in Frutero Aero bliss. The Consoles and Televisions were for those whom couldn't be bothered to pay the Internet Bills, and for those who wanted pre-told stories to go prance around in. For The Consoles, we had Game Cube, Game Boy, Play Station 2, Play Station 3, PSP, Xbox 360, the DS and the largest one, The Nintendo Wii. All these 500 dollar consoles coming with such iconic characters as Parrapa, Sweet Tooth, Big Daddy, Master Chief, Sora, Mario, Kirby, and 150 animals that may as well have been made by Dr Frankenstein on a bad day. All these characters, trapped within the bounds of the game, none able to do more than what they were merely programed with, giving gamers a want for repetitiveness. Lastly was The Televisions! Yes, yes, "God is in the TV", blah blah blah, "This is the house where nobody lives.", blah blah blah "See the anguish in my eyes." blah. Blah. BLAH. Anyways... The Televisions lived in unisons with the consoles, as they were hooked to them, The Televisions at the time ran on either bulbs or lanterns, projecting pictures onto a screen of shows planned out in an order by Hollywood onto what they called a "TV Guide". For my generation, we were the last ones to know any characters from the 90s by watching live Television, since Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Animaniacs, Hucklberry Hound, Dick Dastardly, Sourpuss, and the old Donald Duck Cartoons (Like Chef Donald), played on these channels before being kicked aside 2008, just to name a few. Among other things, reruns of Andy Griffith, I Love Lucy, and The Lil' Rascals would play as well, of course these were bound to other channels that played King of Queens, Big Bang Theory, and Seinfeld (Seinfeld was fun). With all these things combined, the watchers grew a connection to characters and media a like with ideas sprinkled all tough it. The 3 Things, Computers, Consoles, and TV, lived in harmony, if only for a little bit, all the while companies like Apple and Google began to grow with their practices... Over the years, these Things have become a necessity, and before we knew it, Cable TV had been ditched for Streaming, hiding old content behind 40-50 dollar pay walls, Console Companies began producing consoles quicker and quicker, with games coming and going like clockwork, once one game died a year later, it was on to the next with 60 bucks out of one's pocket, and The Computer had become a place of Cancel Culture, Unfunny Memes, and above all else, a lack of enjoyment, especially after "The Death of Flash". (Because heaven forbid someone actually enjoyed the Papa Louie games.) In this modern day and age, our people have become stale. No skills, no want for work, no creativity except for a select few... All that's left now is a generation of product influencers and defiance. This is what went wrong with Gen Z... Though, that's just my take, all opinion. Sorry for the long story. :P
