Spooky scary skeletons
Another practice drawing. This time I decided to try utilizing the "smudge" tool with different colors in GIMP to create a sense of depth and detail, something I've never done before. I also decided to not use cartoon outlines in the version of the painting you see here, to try to make the piece more realistic.
I thought this was an interesting idea to try: a skull and cross-bones flipping off the world to display attitude but, with the power of only a head, offensively gesturing hands, and feet, there is no real power behind the image.
As I am new to drawing via the computer, this is by no means a perfect implementation of my idea; I'm basically just practicing techniques at this point. It took a bit longer to finish this piece than my first two did.
Any constructive feedback is helpful; I'm relatively new to 2D illustration as an art form. :)
