This was an experiment just to sort of thumbnail (?) how I want my Pico animation to look once we actually start working on the animation. I'm still pretty stuck on those storyboards. It's taking me a long-ass time cuz I don't want to be THAT GUY who presents an idea and asks for help with it. I want to put in my own work, and create something on my own that's worth other people's time and effort before I even start to burden anybody else with it.
My goal is do do all of the following by myself: The storyboard itself, a rough sketch animation consisting of the essential keyframes, some basic background sketches, model sheets and other visual resources, reference vocals for the voice over, and I would LIKE to provide lipsync animation for it. I think what I'll be turning over to other people is basically in-betweens, lineart, and coloring, and obviously the actual voice cast won't all be me! Also I can't do backgrounds. I'll probably solicit those from my boyfriend, lel.
Here's a sketch of the model sheets so far! With lots of lil dudes on it so far :)
And a look at a turn around for Cassandra, same sketches shown above there's just a couple more angles and it's actually colored partially.
I'm kind of going for a cross between Nicktoons and Cartoon Network programming, though those channels don't really have a concise "style" per say. As much as I hate the guy Butch Hartman definite had a hand in inspiring the look. Probably more than I'd like. But another good chunk of the inspiration comes from Panty and Stocking which blah blah blah was inspired by like Powerpuff Girls and general American cartoons of the 90s and 2000s.
Just trying to make something that's my style + an undeniable ounce of Pico's School itself + generic American cartoon. Nothing authentic, nothing accurate! Just how I wanna draw it :)
