In the mountains of an uncharted land lives a Gorgon named William. He lives alone by his choosing, given that most people get very skittish around Gorgons. You never know how there powers work until they turn you to stone. While Will can control his gaze, he did not feel like dealing with the hassle and noise. Unfortunately living alone is quite lonely and boring, so Will relishes in the chance to talk to people that happen to wander into his territory. Annoyingly the majority of those people are warriors and would-be heroes out to slay him. Many come armed with a mirror...only to quickly find out that is a myth surrounding Gorgons, no thanks to Perseus. For those that are not there to slay him, they quickly flee because over friendly Gorgon...

Will has the ability to turn people into stone and metal. The petrified people can only be reverted by Will's touch, and only if he wishes to do so. While it takes a lot to break a statue, they can be broken. At that point the statue needs to be mended, but even then the person will revert back injured based on how bad the break was. Mysteriously these statues never seem to erode or rust. While Will doesn't care for people who try to attack him, he does have a valley set aside for these statues. He refuses to drop them down the cliffs as he considers that murder and he's not out to kill people. As to why Will can turn people into metal, even he is not sure why. He just woke up one day with the ability to do that. Many Scholars believe this is just the natural progression of the Gorgon life cycle and development.

Will's age is unclear as he lost count a while back. He has the tablet with his date of birth somewhere, but he cannot be bothered to track it down. He's definitely well above 50, but for Gorgon standards that is incredibly young. Despite his loneliness, he does get visited by the gods. Hermes likes to check up on him, Hades loves to play chess with him, Dionysus brings drink and music, Loki enjoys musing on the nature of the universe with him, Kali finds him an adorable snake, and Wukong... well they had an interesting encounter to say the least. And naturally no human believes him when he says he's met various deities. This makes him a bit sad. Lastly, the demon Ornias has made it his duty to take care of him to the best of his ability.

I should probably make Ornias the next upload since I've mentioned him twice already... So a minor note is that I do want to draw him again given this came out a little awkward. Obviously this is more geared towards petrification, ha. And yes, I do plan to expand upon the story premise presented here eventually.
