Character Reference: Ornias

Share

So here's my take on Ornias, specifically from the Testament of Solomon. Back in December 2019 I got my first Occult books and it has been a wild ride ever since.

Ornias is pretty intriguing given that he's supposedly what caused Solomon to start seeking out demons. This would eventually lead to the Goetia being written. I'm not too sure how I became interested in Ornias, I guess it was just natural interest. Regardless, I figured why not make a character based off of him?

If you'll indulge me for a brief second, from my DA upload:

Can I talk about Ornias' unique sign for a second? In The Goetia of Dr. Rudd, It is detailed that demons of the Goetia appear to be connected to specific classic astrology signs. Each rank in Hell's pseudo-monarchy has it's sign. But Ornias says he is of Aquarius... which doesn't have a rank tied to it. No surprise given that Ornias is not in the Goetia. So my head canon is this: Ornias is a Baron, the only monarchy rank below Knight, of to which Knight is only held by Forcas. Interestingly that may have been misinterpretation and Forcas may actually be a Duke. This ambiguity with Ornias isn't the only the instance of this though. The 4 Emperors of Hell as detailed in Ars Theurgia/Theurgia-Goetia do not have a sign tied to their rank.

Occultism is a rabbit hole with no discernable end... Again, this is another instance where I need to draw said character again. The clothes came out a little awkward... I'm learning, slowly, but surely. Also yes, they are intended to be latex clothes.
