One day within the chambers of the churches, devout sinners prayed to their higher beings in hope something would come of it. In hope their want to become angels would come. To their surprise, it did indeed come true but not in the way they had hoped. The higher beings grew tired of watching those they saw beneath them and worthy of no prize praise them so valiantly. They saw it as a stain upon their names, and so to teach the asylum goers a lesson the higher beings turned every devout sinner not turned into a Caged Tumor into a shambling mess of entrails and string. The bottoms of their bodies were torn asunder and they were given wings just strong enough to lift them so they would always feel burdened by themselves. And to stop them from praying or trying to comfort one another their hands were bound with a red rope that was attached to their necks, if they reached out too far they would start to suffocate themselves making them question whether it was worth trying to hold one another at the cost of their own lives. Few tried and died in the process. The rest of the Martyr Angels got their message and began to wander the halls in search of anyone or anything to take their bitter anger out on, weeping and hoping that some day their living hell will end.
