This is the second part of my comic for the Comic Jam that I organised in the art forum for this weekend. The idea was to make a comic entirely in 3 days, including all writing and designing.

The theme was 'Night'.

My comic, 'Waking Dreams', is 21 pages long (strung together as two files on the art portal), and comprises 75 individually drawn panels.

I hope you enjoy it.

Awesome work! :D

This comic was great!

I loved the very unique style of character design, and I really enjoyed the way you worked with the black & white definition to everything :P. The mood of this story fit almost seamlessly with the look of the world and characters that you've developed; huge plus IMO. All and all there isn't to much I would change about this piece, but I would definitely love to see more of your work in the future! (especially the ending to this one :p)

Keep up the great work; this comic definitely seems to have some potential... and so do you :D

Fantastic Work!

Great ending!

Wow, that started to get "real" and the development process kicked up a gear. Sure, I'd like to see it in a horizontal "page" format, as discussed in my previous review, but that sort of thing wouldn't really affect the way that the story progresses.

Now we have the girl admitting to her belief in magic and on top of that the sensation that some sort of magic has happened and now she's woken up in a cafe, which she didn't knowingly enter. Perhaps she was asleep and was transported there with the idea of her getting there was just a dream?

The black and white colour scheme is awesome, giving us a great demeanour for the whole piece. Dark and mysterious really suits this and making the girl a borderline emo / goth type just seems to work.

I'd consider adding a few more characters to this now, because she's got this massive problem developing in front of her eyes and she's going to need to talk to someone about it. Someone that she can confide a little in, perhaps even a pet, that would allow something else to happen, like she discovers it can talk?

Anyway, I'm spitballing and you've probably got a few more panes of this piece planned out and maybe even written by now. Keep up the good work!

Strange ending

Well I guess she got her wish of the night being over and yet no one saw that she was there all night either which is kind of odd to say the least. This ending of the comic was rather odd anyways, I guess we shall never know what the old man really wanted now huh? Not bad at all though, I found it to be interesting anyways.

Still going with black and white though is nice. The story concept was good which is sometimes we get offers that never come again and sometimes just wish we could go back and change those things as well sometimes. Oh well, live moves on right?

Overall, interesting end to the comic.

Not the best ending

Part 2 of the story goes a bit more in-depth around the girl, but still stays quite shallow when it comes to story.

The same goes for the style of this one as it does with part 1. The black and white and simple, cartoony style really fits the theme, which isn't very jolly in this case. The character design also shows a tired girl, which is somewhat telling of her person.

We get to know her better, her frustrations and her feelings, which is always nice, as it pulls the reader a bit more into the story. The man is still a stranger, and the ending is quite odd, it doesn't really give you an answer to anything, and I'm not quite sure exactly what happened. I was half expecting a bit of a radical ending, something rather special happening, related to the "magic"-question of the old man.
