Reviews for "The Darkness Suite"

sinister...

wow perfect dark atmosphere, good job! you could even add some strings to emphasize some parts of the song...like before 3:15...the fast part. or a solo violin for the soft passages.

MJTTOMB responds:

I'd really love to.

But sadly, It's a piano suite, and I wanna try to keep it so that nothing more than a piano and a pianist is needed.

But yeah.

Ther than functionality purposes, I may want to play around a bit with it and upload it to ng.

wow

favourited you now. I have to say this is truly superb. I only have one small niggle, its that its recorded quietly so that I have to turn my computer up to hear it, but then everything else is all blasting at me! Other than that this is perfect, beautiful music. Well done.

MJTTOMB responds:

Glad you like it!

You may also enjoy the other movements as well. :)

Serene, yet Mysterious

Please allow me to congratulate you on a splendid piece of audio. It was great to listen to, and it can make someone wonder about the mysteries in life. Keep it up everyone says.

YEYZ, REVIEW FEATURE!!! :D

MJTTOMB responds:

YEYZ, RESPOND FEATURE! xD

Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed.

Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful!

I just love this piece. Can you believe that it almost brought tears to my eyes?

You have incredibly effective harmonic progressions, wonderful melodies, and a great sense of purpose. You're definitely on my list of "best composers on Newgrounds" now.

Also, if I may ask a question... I've never heard that "soft piano" sound before. How did you make it sound like that?

MJTTOMB responds:

Thanks for the compliment man. Means a lot to hear praise like that.

I use GarageBand, a program for macs. The Orchestra Steinway Piano comes in the rather steeply priced orchestral Jam Pack. I got the effect be lowering the note velocity to about 30 and then i drowned it in reverb.

Seriously, thanks for reviewing. Also, thanks for faving!

Feel of the macabre

I love your work and I have to say that this is my favorite from you so far I think. This would be great for some kind of survival horror game sound track.

MJTTOMB responds:

Woah, just saw this!
Thanks for the review, I hope to hear back from you again sometime!

Glad to know someone likes my work. :D
