Reviews for "Rage of the Champions"

Heh, shweet. ("h" intended)

The percussion solo rocked. Very nice melody, good accompaniment by the brass, possibly add some fills with the brass (XD, wrote "bras" the first time), like having them play not just once every measure. I heard only one point where they did so. I liked the staccato strings in the background. Melody was nice, the tubular bells could have been a little more variant during the percussion solo, the one note got a little boring. Overall, great song.

MaestroRage responds:

This song is by far my most percussion heavy, I don't think i've ever done something that uses as much percussion as this!

As for the staccato brass playing only once per measure, it is conceivable to have them play more then that yes, but it also gets messy. I didn't actually try it to be honest... I suppose I should have!

The more I listen to this piece, the more I am convinced a version 2 is necessary...

As for the tubuler bells, I intentionally made them boring to try and emulate some church bells of the sorts, to bring about some more intimidating imagery.

Onward, to battle!

The melody could have been more orchestrated, using more octaves and maybe some brass would have brought it out more. The beginning sounded fine with the strings, but after the breakdown it should have boomed more, instead of losing force.

Percussion sounded fine, the end was a little weak, thats all

MaestroRage responds:

The melody in my opinion could not be more orchestrated. In order to make a melody that isn't tiring, I would have had to make the loop longer, if the loop is too long, it would make the download rate of the game too slow.

If I had orchestrated it more with just this minute loop, it would have been much too tiring on the ears to hear again and again. So this piece doesn't have too much melody wise. If I do make an extended version of it, it would have a LOT more to it.

As for Brass. It has... a lot of brass. Unless you are referring to the melody itself, that has no brass, only strings true. Since this piece relies very heavily on the percussion I did not want to muddle it up further with brass on top of the strings. It would have made hearing the finer details harder.

I do agree, the ending could have used a bit more work, maybe i'll submit a V2 soon.

Wow, this was really epic!

All the instruments that were played in this audio sounded really good. I mean, it sounded like an orchestra of some sort. Anyways, loved the clarity in this audio. I can hear this audio beautifully through my speakers. I can imagine this audio being played in the movie 300. That's how good this audio is! Overall, this audio was awesome and I enjoyed hearing this! Awesome Work MaestroRage yet again! :D

MaestroRage responds:

Yeah, like the other epic track, equalizing on this monster was a beast! Thankfully I think it came out rather well!

I don't know about it being movie worthy, but I appreciate the compliment!

I'm glad you liked the track Seamonky! Thank you for the review ^^.
