Reviews for "Rage of the Champions"

Ahhh

Rock solid man, from the power brass stabs, to what the strings way up top playing 4ths, I think. This is great stuff, reminded me of some classic Zimmer stuff, that modern almost rock and roll sound with the full orchestra and rushing percs with a simple fast attack string driven chord set up. I like it a lot man, The Rock is what I'm thinking of. Is all that EastWest?

MaestroRage responds:

hey jrayteam6!

Yes in fact this is all East West. Except the hi hats, that was some other sample. I have been told quite a bit that it reminds them of metal music. I wish I knew exactly what they are talking about, maybe the brass stabs?

In any case, i'm glad you liked it, thank you for the review ^^! I love Zimmer and I'd be lying if I say his music wasn't a source of inspiration for my own tracks.

Been a while

I've kind of forgotten to check back here and I'm seriously regretting that right now. Wonderful piece, it's a shift from your usual style. Percussion is used a melody and not as accents. What program/VST do you use for your strings and percussion? I've always put off writing and music because all of the programs I've tried cannot replicate percussion sounds accurately.

MaestroRage responds:

Hello Besieged, I am glad you found your way back to my page, and were able to find something to entertain you.

For percussion and strings, this whole song was done with East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold PRO Expansion

I used pretty much every percussion the VST had, not including the metal ones. Though let me tell you the best VST you can get for percussion in my opinion is True Strike. That VST, is BRILLIANT, a bit pricey, but when I can afford it, it's definitely going to be joining my arsenal.

Let me know if you have any questions, i'd love to help you out! Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Since You Aren't Reviewing Your Own..

I will XD

It turned out really good. I like the drums (Or is it a synth) that comes in every once in a while. It gave it sort of an abstract effect to it. Very well organized. I liked the percussion sections a lot, they had a very nice vibe to them.

The main melody was very nice sounding, the violin had a mix of epic yet calm feel to it.

The entire piece sounds really good, it also loops wonderfully. Keep up the good work and good luck in the competition :)

MaestroRage responds:

Thanks again Warchamp7 for your reviews!

The drums in this piece are currently my biggest achievement. They are my most diverse and punishing percussion to date, and I hope to be able to learn how to make it even more demanding, even MORE severe >:D!!!

One day...

To be honest, I don't quite like how the loop ends, I was debating on changing it for the longest time, but somehow decided to keep it. I kinda regret that choice, but the song still works as is, so I will have to keep it like this.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it ^^.

Fancy

I forgot to check out your work for a while, sorry bout that, I'll do it now. This song is typical of you: clean, sweet and unfortunately, short. The first melody is lovely, nice work with the drums too. Perhaps you could have continued it like this: after the current end a no drum all string section, and then bring back the first melody and drums with thunderous strings and brass, and some choirs. That would make it a new favourite of mine, this way I 'merely' love it XD

MaestroRage responds:

I'm glad you decided to drop by again Skragga :D.

I will expand this version, and am currently doing a remake of it with a good friend DarKsidE555 in fact. His electric guitar will reak hell on this song >:}.

I am glad you liked it, I will do my best to make this song your new favorite :D! Thank you for the review!

Applause, applause, applause to the Maestro

Niiiiiiccccceeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!

MaestroRage responds:

Thankies :D!
