Reviews for "City Block Render"

really? cad?

really? "lycanstigall" was sayin this piece does not need much of an effort, but i must disagreee with him
you cannot render this quality with CAD first of all. you said you took drafting and cad in 'high school' so i must doubt how much you know about cad.
Moreover, this author clearly said he used cinema 4 d. meaning you cannot compare cad and c4d. cad is for plans and c4d is for both temporary animation and 3d rendering/model making.
this site is not for architecture studio NOR any art field studio only. Meaning, we should not have that much of high standard.

the amount time spending on a piece is not important as long as it looks good.
If this piece was given for architecture project, it would be worse than terrible, but for visual effect, i must say he did a good job. Good rendering and style.
kinda reminds me of TF2 :P

*P.S. I just cant overlook 'Smart Ass' comments. really.

meh

i took drafting and cad in high school. this isn't that impressive. anyone can do this in one good day or two easy days. its mostly just making one shape (which none of these shapes are complicated), doing a lot of copy and paste, and adding a couple pictures so some flat surfaces. such as the bricks, just images pasted on flat surfaces, the lights and bars and windows are copied and pasted from making just one, if this took you more than two easy days I'm sorry. it looks good, don't get me wrong, but if you think its something special than you are mistaken. the only thing good coming out of this is possible potential to do much greater things, only if your a beginner that is. if you have been doing this for some time now, i would consider staying to the basics and knowing that your not going to get much batter at any high rate of speed.

i do not mean to hurt, but to educate

Great!

I can only assume you were aiming for realism in this piece, so I'll point out some of the obvious details you missed.

1. Proportion. The innards of the building would have to be extremely cramped to express the layout portrayed by the windows and bottom floor doorways. (Remember there would be a stairwell consuming up to a quarter of that buildings volume)

2. The fire escape. Aside from the topmost level looking very unsafe (Where's the railing?), this too is out of proportion. The intention of this type of fire escape being an escape route for *all* floors of the building.

But regardless of these little mistakes, you have not failed in creating an extraordinarily good looking building! Like it has been mentioned, this is definitely the kind of quality you'd expect to see in a newly released video game! Good job!

wow

very nice model.
incredible detail. wish I had the patience to do that.
I use blender so I wouldn't know how hard that was to make but it looks really nice.
good work, hope to see more.

Great!

Wow this looks so detailed, and the Ad sings really color things up, really nice work!
