One way to decribe it

There is only one way to describe what this song reminds me of. Pure, captured, distilled, essence of anger. Every note of the song is just dripping with a kind of sorrowful rage. It is an incredibly complex sound and at first it was hard to dissect. First off, the heavy drums in the background of the song set the tone with an agressive, angry sound. The second thing I noted was the strings section; at first all I heard was the quick notes, but upon concentrating, I noticed something else in the background. The short, quick repeating notes from the beginning to 0:51 have a uniquely noble and yet almost urgent sound, as if they are accompaning the beating of running feet on stone. However, there is another part of the string section that almost got lost in the shuffle that is a continuous two note rhythm that really lends the tone of urgency to the piece. Finally, the brass section accompanying the percussion added to the anger of the heavy drum. Overall, a complete sound and a technically perfect piece.

As far as mental imagry, this piece provides much as fodder for the imagination. The beginning of the piece brings to mind a proud warrior betrayed by those he once called friend in the midst of a heated battle. The warrior, overcome, flees from his foes, and at last finds himself alone, in a forgotten grove. Kneeling amonst the shards of his broken honor, the warrior draws his sword and vows upon his blood to revenge himself upon those whom he trusted and was betrayed. He rises form the ground and runs to meet his foes, for he knows that the most dangerous foe is the one with nothing to lose.

Very professionally done maestro. Keep up the good work.

MaestroRage responds:

I liked the last sentence you wrote here Denver "The most dangerous foe is the one with nothing to lose". Truer words have never been spoken.

I am glad you were able to decipher all the layers of this piece. To be honest I was surprised you were able to catch them :)! I put a lot of subtle, small melodies and the such in the background, and of course because they are there purely for support of the main feel, they are often skipped by the listener.

The story was one I could see very well. It is quite close to my image, though the ending for my story is a rather bitter one. I hope in your story, the knight comes out victorious, for I feel it should at least once, survive the onslaught thrown against it.

I have once again a story :D!

In the Ancient ruins of the once fabled Sliver Knights with gargantuan statutes of dead heros walks a man. A man with his head hung low and walking with a small stride. As he reaches the middle of the ruins he feels its power surging through his body feeling young once again. Going through the hallways with every step bring back gruesome but pleasing memories. He reached the object he has been looking for ever since that day. He gazed at it with great anticipation waiting for that power he once held many hundreds of years ago. The ancient man slowly stuck his arm forward, and grabbed the artifact. The rush of power went surging through his veins making him young once again. At the kingdom of Gershum a decaying king looks out his castle window in his royal quarters. He sees the beacon of red energy for the spot he remembers so well. "NO this can not be! i killed him hundreds of years ago!" The ordered his most trusted knight
to get him his old armor. The knight returned with the shining armor that was so brilliant that even the king was stunned by it. Once had gotten his armored boots on he felt his legs turn young again. After he had gotten all his armor equipped he said to himself "I had hoped that i would never have to do this again..." The king once again looked outside his window. He was horrified, he saw rivers of blood from his loyal subjects and he spotted the his very own brother in the armor he was in on the faithful day. A tear slid down the kings cheek. He ran down into his mighty hall see the doors on the entrance blown away by his brother. The king slowly walked towards the genocidal maniac "So you came back from the dead brother?" he said in a furious tone" Nye i was only waiting." as he said will walking towards the king. "For what?" and in an instant the kings brother was in front of him. The king looking at his face was shadowed but he could still see the fain red glow in his eyes. " For this" and he slid his demonic sword into the kings gut piercing his body. He pulled his sword out and watched the king fall to the ground, and with a murderous smile on his face he let out a demonic laugh. Well what do you think :D?

MaestroRage responds:

Everything about this story just clicked one scene after another :D! I could see the frantic movement, the approaching darkness at the beginning, and then the brother rushes in, gives his awesome speech, and then the second the blade impales him, the choirs come in. Slow motion death, reaching for stability, falling to knees, and then to his side, the king dies.

Murderous laugh scene cut! Ending cue entrance.

Like a movie :)

Well, here goes!

Two armies clash on a broken field. The air is full of gunsmoke and the screams of dying men. The two generals, once united in their quest for world peace, are now turned against each other in a desperate bid for power. So caught up in the rage of battle are they that neither man sees his fate coming. From the north, a third army marches. Ancient steel gleams muderously in the morning light. Neither man shall take victory. The Emperor, thought lost, has returned.

MaestroRage responds:

Indeed a powerful and image invoking story Lemartes D:!!!

I absolutely adored the sentiments. When the choirs jump in I can see the Emperor's army gleaming in the light!

Well written, well written indeed! Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Greatest Betrayal

Very good song, it brought to mind something I was planning on making into a game. This song would be great for the tragic and dramatic twist. Though to get the point across I would need a lot of space unfortunately. In short though:

A warrior is betrayed by a woman he falls in love with, she had used him for a purpose and had what she wanted. Unable to fight her, his heart too weak, she kills him, stabbing him through the heart. He falls over, drawing his last breath. She cries slightly, realising what she had done. She had used him, for her masters ill intents. She left after shedding only a few tears. After she left, he coughed, taking in a shallow breath. He was an immortal, and now, knew what he must do. He stands slowly, looking over the graveyard of his kind. He must make things right he said. The sunsets slowly, the warrior watching it set before leaving...

Again, great music, very dramatic I say. Keep up the great work, hope to hear more.

10/10 and 5/5

Epiclet.

You should really do film music, you're a hell of a lot better than most of the shit out there. If I could hug you. I would. -imaginary hug-
