Reviews for "Party Land"

best animation I've seen in the jam so far, love the art but I thought the levels became a little tedious, namely going up stairs with the floaty jump (check out my Dial-A-Platformer on NG for figuring out jump vars)

Suggested keyboard control changes:
Left/Right arrows, A/D: move left/right
Up, W, X, K: Jump
Z, J: Punch
Down, S: ground pound(in air) eat(on ground)

Gamepad didn't seem to have an eat button on my switch pro controller and joystick didn't move the character

catproX responds:

Thanks for the feedback and I will check out your game. I plan to push out an update for controls, and a bug with the turd missles. As for eating on the controller it was down and X, I believe.

Also thanks for the answering my questions on the forum and on discord.

Best game ever. Art is fantastic! Very fun.

Overall it works well, it's just a little slow for my taste especially when climbing stairs one step at a time. Agree with HerbieG about arrows, and would add W or UP = jump. Two minor bugs I noticed: if you're eating a corpse and get hit by a turd then the turd flies through you but then you actually take damage after it's passed when you finish eating, and if you're standing directly on top of a bear and hit him then he bleeds and makes sound like he got hit but doesn't actually die.

catproX responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I've added the bugs to the backlog for cleanup. I do need to make the turd destroy/kill itself on collosion. I also need to add some nice particle splat effects along with a sound.

not bad. didn't work on safari for Mac, and constantly tried opening a pop-up window in firefox...?

catproX responds:

The pop up is likely the newgrounds.io api trying to authenticate to the service. I may have to disable it if that is an issue. Interesting that it didn't work on Safari for Mac, as the HaxeFlixel compiled to HTML5. Thanks for the feedback.

Respect people that prefer to use arrow keys for movement - a small advice :-)

catproX responds:

I've added arrow keys! Going forward I need to create an options screen that allows players to configure movement/interactions to theiry liking.
