Reviews for "Xtrullor - Jnana"

Holy hell, this is fucking amazing.

I'll start with the atmosphere. Long story short, you nailed it, with your timing and selection of instruments, and your awesome mixing. The brass (which you have also nailed in previous songs) seriously contributed to the atmosphere, as did the vocals (talking about the ones at 0:15), even if when they first come in they seem a little strange. I also thought the vocals had a sort of ancient Egyptian feel to it, did anyone else get that from it?

On to the orchestra. You nailed it once again. I think that's a part of your production you have really made into pure art, as shown by the mass-eargasms of Event Horizon and Terran Era. As far as the style of it I think this one had more of the grand, room-filling feel of Terran Era, rather than the punchy, powerful, get-swept-along-by-the-melody feel of Event Horizon, both of which I think are epic. Part of what makes your orchestra so good, I think, is that it just synergizes so well with the atmosphere you so flawlessly create.

But unlike the two tracks I mentioned, I loved this drop. Those two, as well as Birth of the Sun, had lackluster drops to say the least. I think mainly it was a feeling of total discontinuity between the mind-blowing orchestra and the drop that came after. As I believe I said in other reviews, it felt like “We interrupt your eargasm to bring you: lasers. We now return to our previously scheduled program.” The orchestra and the dubstep didn’t really mesh, they stayed separate. But this song has returned to the 2015 style I really loved, with Ichor, Soulstorm, and Earthsplitter being my main favorites, where the two really meshed into something truly beautiful.
Well done.

I only had two qualms with this song. The first one was that the voice at the end felt like it went on a little too long. Don’t get me wrong, voice lines like that have the potential to really boost the atmosphere, like AaronMussleWhite did in his song HalloweenStep, but when they go on too long, they lose their impact. The other thing was that I would have liked to see more of the atmosphere you created slip into the first drop. Atmosphere is what I feel holds a lot of your songs together, which you do very well. That was also part of the problem with the three aforementioned songs, although Birth of the Sun and the second drop on Event Horizon did it a little better.

Overall very well done.
Atmosphere – 10/10
Orchestra – 10/10
Dubstep – 9/10

Your best orchestral dubstep track so far!
The intro sounded interesting and the choirs had oriental feel to them.
I really liked part around 0:55 with bells and stuff.
The build up sounded nice too and because of how quiet it was the drop had much stronger impact.
The drop itself was really mindblowing with great growls and and orchestral use, the melodic part at 3:00 suprised me, but it was great too, the part with he voice wasnt my favourite but once everything in background went quite, i knew that there is gonna be a drop, and there was.
The last drop was also melodic and amazing, great work.
Overally i think that this is very close too supernova and i loved it.
Cant wait to hear more stuff from you.
Happy new year X

I absolutely love it, good job!

What can I say; this track is practically flawless. If i had to nitpick anything it would be the EQing of the drums but I feel you EQed them that way for a reason. Great work either way, very very impressive.

Your tracks are never disappointing!
