Reviews for "One Of You"

This is pretty great for a horror game and I enjoyed the multiple endings. Awesome job!

Thanks!!!

I like the 8-bit / Pixel aspect of the game! really cool!!

some minor things like how the main menu and other stuff is

like being able to click "new game" instead of pressing enter

but not that much could change, as this game seems cool, but then again I am only starting to play this game as I am typing this review. great work and good luck!

Frankly, I'm appalled that this game managed to get not only a place on the front page, but a score higher than a 3.

The writing is poorly proofread and amateurish (your/you're, anyone?), the loading times and lack of a skip button are hair-pulling, especially when trying to get every ending, the plot is predictable, devoid of horror, and quickly laid out through copious amount of log-reading (which, by the way, the characters never react to in such a way that may, say, delay their deaths at the hands of a shapeshifting monster).

The monster is a discount The Thing raised by a discount Jigsaw, which completely wastes the premise of a shapeshifting monster, which is to say, causing doubt and paranoia among the characters, by only revealing its existence to the characters at the end for an old fashioned kill-em-all ending. By the way, mixing your discount The Thing with a discount Jigsaw cheapens your monster, as it's both too human and not human enough to be taken seriously.

There is absolutely no challenge or puzzle to the game (except for maybe the computer code puzzle), progression being a mindless game of "touch things at random until you find the right thing".

Scenario C was comical, with absolutely no point to its existence. Yeah, sure, the monster's still alive, we knew that from B's third ending. Yeah, sure, the monster's still following not-Jigsaw's teachings, we already knew that from the kill-em-all endings. Yeah, sure, it'd kill its foster family, that's kind of the point of being a horror monster. Also I find it hilarious that C's protagonist's reaction to a murderous shapeshifter is to go 'fuck it, I'm out, no need to tell anyone, it's not my problem anymore'.

My suggestion if you want to play an actual RPG horror game? Mad Father. Misao. Mogeko Castle. Middens/Gingiva. OFF. Ib. Hello? Hell...o?. Arguably Yume Nikki. Mermaid Swamp. There's scores of better horror games made in this engine. Heck, even Ao Oni and its fangames do it better.

aw, music isn't playing for meee. ;(

I apologize about the audio issues. Try a different web browser like chrome or firefox to see if the issue persists.

This game raises so many questions. Like a good thriller it doesn't tell you everything, it leaves you wanting more. Still, I would love to have a longer game to go greater in depth on this story.
