Basically, yea.
cool, i will be waiting for the full version >w> i like the humor and everything, i don't know if i finish it i just know that i am in the begining.... again xD
I'm sure it's going to shape up to be a really fun game.
Though I can't help but feel there's a missed opportunity with the octopus being unable to use his airdodge to wavedash.
I've been thinking about adding that, actually.
Pretty smooth gameplay, congrats on getting greenlit.
What did you make this game in?

Great concept! I'm in total agreement with what Avdima said, the humor and quirkiness kept me playing despite the awkward controls. You mentioned how this was meant for the SNES controller which I think is a great idea because of the games vintage style and gameplay but the keyboard bindings need to be readjusted (like 1000000000 people said previously c;) Maybe I'm a traditionalist but I like space for jump, wasd to move, etc.
However, as Avdima also mentioned the concept of the controls being awkward seemed to fit the description of the character we are given... Not many games use things like that for character development but maybe it's an option? It would be very clever if done properly.
Another thing I would literally break into your house and kiss you if you did would be if you added the option of the octopus to actually be a girl, maybe a bow? Or it could even be an option for future parts of the game to add small, simple vanity items acquired through skill/optional pathways with commentary from the narrator when equipped.
Lastly, I hope all the development goes well and congrats on the greenlit, can't wait to support you on steam :d
I honestly don't think awkward controls would work tbh. It's interesting that you say space is traditional, when I'm used to Cave Story controls which used Z for jump. I just moved it up a row :)
Also, I never said the octopus was a boy ;)
