I wanted to give this game a good score, but it has too many serious flaws to be a good game.
Good:
1. Music
2. "My Rewards" after each race
3. Sounds
4. Graphics
Bad:
1. No brake or any way to slow down.
2. No Health refill pick-up.
Ugly:
1. Too much luck involved. Sometimes there are 3 cars appear in the way on the screen, making it impossible to avoid taking damage. And since there are no health power-ups, it's too much a matter of luck how far you can go.
The menu music is so loud and obnoxious.
Haven't written a review in years but your game made me annoyed enough to bother!
When using nitro it's almost impossible to even avoid the 2 cars blocking lanes, it's possible but you need insane reaction times.
BUT the 3 cars blocks CANNOT be avoided even when travelling at the slowest speed.
It just seems like a really dumb design decision...
If you're going to do that on purpose you really need to add in health pickups or something like that to give you a chance of mitigating that randomness.
At the moment even if you're good how long you last is entirely dependent on how many 3 car groups you get presented with. And even crashing into the has a random factor because the amount of damage you take can be small or huge depending on how you are bounced through the unavoidable collision.
I loved absolutely loved Driving Force 2 but this one is a big miss unless you fix this problem.
No menu button, no restart button(for when you mess up early on), no mute button. And as urnam04 pointed out, there's too much luck involved, especially when you consider that you can easily lose (almost?) all of your health in a single encounter with 3-car row if you're unlucky.
Will be pretty nice timewaster if you fix all that.
