Reviews for "Crayon Poke"

The artwork is amazing with in-depth details, but I think it still has room for improvement:
1. The character movement is rather slow.
2. I don't think the "Skull" skill is necessary.

(Sorry for my poor English...)

Nice little game. Reminds me a lot of Depict1. I especially love the character designs. That pig was wonderfully squishy (also love how it loved crayons) and those bouncy things are really cool. I like how they appear a bit sinister; made me hesitant to approach at first.

My complaints are (1) the music is a little boring, and (2) I don't see the relevance of the throwing object being crayons. Or most of the objects, really. The skulls, the crayons, the diamond secrets, they don't really blend well together where you'd expect the objects would combine to tell a story. Although with this being a ludumdare game, I totally understand and am actually pleasantly surprised by the quality.

Hope you improve upon this game in the future.

Ok, so I either can't pull off some crazy platformer move or I got to a checkpoint I wasn't ready to get. It is the one with spikes on either side. I made a bridge of crayons to get there. I can't figure out how to proceed forward or how to get back. I read all the comments and have found one other person who has done the same thing.

Raiyumi responds:

Hmm.. you have to make another bridge on the right side.

Very fun and well designed. Lots of small details, very smooth animations and tight controls.

One gripe: The red ball/crayon-recharger after you obtain the Skull Crayon needs to be moved to the right more, so that the player is 100% guaranteed to go through it. At my first runthrough, I completely missed it and was stuck for awhile because I was pressing 'D' but nothing was happening.

Great work!

i love your game, a little short but so f***ng adictive, the music can be better too but the game idea, the character, the game art and the medals are great ;D
