Reviews for "bioDigit"

Its a fun game but the enemies are annoying when they have 200 health. THe upgrade system is cool but the prices should be lowered a bit.

Same trouble as the other reviewer, can't shoot webs during tutorial, tried every button. Would help me to help you fix this issue if you said what button shoots web in game or at least in the game description. Also giving it the benefit of the doubt cuz it seemed like it was gonna be pretty entertaining at first glance.

This game is worthwhile and quite entertaining. Controls were easy to grasp, and you could do two things with one action button (shooting webs and lightnings). However, there were some difficulties I had at the beginning:
- I had to figure out on my own how to shoot either webs, or lightnings, and what webs even do (wasn't too difficult to figure it out though)
- The part of the description in the update saying "NEXT LEVEL" was a bit confusing: Initially, it looked like there are more levels to come and the update only applies to the next level. Nothing too hard to figure out, though.
- The size of the enemies was a bit irritating. Sometimes there were enemies with 50 HP flying around, which were not nearly half the size of other enemies flying around with 25 HP, having both the same function.
- It looked a bit too confusing at the beginning, but as the game progressed, I found the chaos pleasing.
- Enemies often hid behind other enemies. You could get used to it, but not fully.
- Putting multiple webs on top of each other increase the effect at all. It took a lot of time to figure that out. Maybe show it graphically: Don't intensify the brightness of the webs when they're on top of each other.

Now to some things that bugged me the whole time:
- The children look almost like the smaller enemies. It was very hard to tell them apart, when the enemies were on the ground.
- It was impossible to tell when the webs were about to disappear. This was especially annoying when there was an enemy in the middle of the web, and then the web suddenly disappeared, making the enemy crash on me. This became especially annoying as you upgraded the web efficiency. You could include some timer, or indicate it graphically, i.e. slowly fading the web out.
- It seemed like when the boss (?) appeared, it was a point on which you couldn't progress for a very long time. Until then it was fun, but I felt like I have spent more than double the time I needed to get there, stuck on that point. There was little progress, little rewards, and much repetition then. Upgrades seemed to be awfully expensive, while not really improving the skill, and diamonds were coming in really slowly. Ultimately, this is the reason why I quit the game. It was more of a bore quit than a rage quit.
- The boss was especially annoying, because the spikes on the side were almost invisible. It took some time to figure out what it was that always killed me. Another thing that bugged me about this scene: When there was a red lightning, and you were just between the lightning and the spikes, there was absolutely no possibility to move to the left or to the right without getting hurt, and you were at the mercy of the enemy generator. Maybe let the boss switch between lightnings and spikes.

All in all, although these are some points you could think about, I really liked the game. It has a lot of potential, but it also needs a few improvements in order to become perfect. Maybe you should let it beta test more often.

I found this game addicting too! Like many others I spent a great deal of time trying to kill that boss. A save function would be nice as well as some way to gain lives while your playing.
I also would suggest some challenge rounds after the boss.

Hazame responds:

There is a save function that works locally. Until I can locate the cause on why it doesn't work for you and the preview commenter, I can't risk to make change on the saving system, it may reset the saved data of other players who have the save function work for them.

I and my friend planned to make this game multi-level. But as we have very limited resource, only one month to finish this game (because my friend will be busy after) while we have my friend's day job and my freelance projects, zero fund and almost won't make any profit so we could only try our best to make the "first level" as completed as we can and here it is. There actually are some sprites and concepts of other monsters which I didn't have time to make them into the game. You can see two of them in this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/447b0jb0uir2org/biodigit_review_1.jpg

If we had more resource, I would be more than happy to create more contents for the game.

Thank you for playing and feedback!

Well done! This is a great game. There are a couple issues however. First & foremost this needs a save function! I spent nearly 3 hours playing this last night & after I get back on to finish the upgrades I was working on (its addicting) & I find that my progress isn't saved & that there really was no save function to begin with! No bueno! Also, it might make things easier if you change the color of your shots from that neon blue/white to something that stands out from the color of the crystals that drop (or vise-versa) your eyes start to play tricks on you after you stare at the color scheme for a while & then it hinders the game play. Im actually fine with the one-button for either the web & then the shots since it would actually be more difficult with two buttons with each having a charge function. Me thinks that would be too many processes for the human brain to react to, lol.

Hazame responds:

This game has a save function as there is an option to reset your saved data in the setting menu. There seems to have an unknown issue about the saving for you which I can't make it happen to me yet so I can't risk to make change that may reset the saved data of other players who may have the saving works for them. I'm sorry. When I find the exact cause of this I will fix it!
