Wonderful story, as someone with strict parents I really did feel identified by it.

God, returning to this game years later as a young adult who after years of questioning their sexuality now knows they're a lesbian sure makes replaying this a completely different experience from when I first played it as a middle-schooler beginning to realize they weren't straight.
Just as I remember, the game is engaging in its storyline and many choices, and it's easy to sympathize with Nick. As someone who although not Asian is a black woman of Caribbean descent, I understand how Nick feels. I'm in the closet because there are unfortunately still many problematic beliefs and opinions of the LGBT community in parts of the Caribbean. It shows in how while as a kid I chose the wackiest and most "in your face!" options, as an adult I chose options that would have the parents the calmest to their reaction about their son (to the point where the father ended up not realizing his son is bisexual). Very sad, but at the same time, shows how powerful this game is, whether you're an ally sympathizing with the main character or a fellow person in the LGBT community empathizing with him.
This was an amazing piece in 2015 and it's still an amazing piece in 2022. Wonderful work.
