Reviews for "Planets Gone Rogue!"

How to win with ease. (No Artifacts.)

One Machine Gun and one EMP, the rest being Shields.

Place the EMP and Machine Gun on the part of the world that is starting to come into view as round starts, make sure the EMP comes out first so you can kill Shields, Black Holes and Railguns.
This will let you have the maximum amount of time to empty rounds into the planet.

Level up Machine Gun shots fired per volley and reload speed up to three levels then damage up to three levels. Next max reload speed then balance damage and shots fired per volley upgrades until Machine Gun is maxed out. Now upgrade the duration of the EMP and reload speed to level three. Once that is done, upgrade the reload speed on the Shields to level one or two so you can block a little bit more. With a little luck, you should now be able to kill an enemy planet before your Machine Gun even leaves the screen.

Feel free to upgrade whatever you want with the rest of the money.

OMBG responds:

Thanks for playing and sharing your strategy! This was an amazing read for me, since I never anticipated this method when developing the game. I really enjoy it to see that players are inventing their own strategies to win the game.

The recent update 1.06 has nerfed the damage upgrade for the machine gun a bit since it was too powerful when upgraded, but I think your strategy should still work.

It was an awesome experience. The only thing is that the game knows no mercy and you have to start again enough times to know how to strategize your probing.

I also found the later weapons to be highly useless. Black hole? A weapon to repel incoming bullets? These two are the same as the shield. The lazer is nice, but does not deliver in terms of damage. I used two weapons throughout: shields and plasma...that's all.

I really like the idea that luck is involved but one so ofter finds junk in artifacts that it basically turns down the player because then you have nothing to spend on upgrades.

All in all, it was a great experience and if you can slightly modify a few things (if you have a mind to do it) it will be perfect.

4/5

OMBG responds:

Thanks for playing and reviewing! While I agree that the black hole generator and the reverter gun are more in the defensive spectrum of the weapons they are not exactly the same: The black hole gun, when upgraded properly, allows you to eat away bullets from a much larger area of the screen, while the reverter gun has the capability to send the projectiles back to the enemy.

I have released an update that slightly modifies the artifacts: They are now less expensive in the later stages of the game, and the chance of finding something useful has also been increased.

I certainly want to deliver more updates as long as there is interest in the game, so I hope I'll be able to make it perfect one day. =)

Great game, lots of fun. My only gripe is having to restart the entire game instead of having multiple lives. I got to the boss, died and gave up on the game. By then I'd already restarted twice.

OMBG responds:

Thanks for playing and I'm sorry the game made you give up in the end. I have just released an update that tweaks some things and makes the game a bit easier overall. Since you should have achieved a higher planet level already, maybe you'll give it another go?

fun game, but needs a few touch ups here and there. for one there's something wonky in your code for the split artifact in regards to the rockets; if they split they sometimes circle the home planet forever, making the rockets a useless weapon.

OMBG responds:

Thanks for playing and reporting this nasty bug! I have just released an update for the game that fixes this problem, the artifact should now work correctly together with the rocket launcher.

pretty fun game flamewolf pretty much has most of it down however if u just massivly lv machine gun rounds and power u can pretty ez most planets without much use for other turrents

OMBG responds:

Thanks for playing! The balancing for the game is still ongoing, I have just released an update that decreased the damage upgrade for the machine gun a bit since it was too powerful just like you reported it.
